On Saturday Nov. 4, the homecoming parade will be making its comeback after last year’s parade getting cancelled last minute due to weather conditions. This year marks the 50th anniversary of the Trevecca homecoming parade. The structure of the parade is striving for each float to represent a time during the 50 years since the parade started.
Madison Triplett, sophomore class president, along with the sophomore class council, oversee all preparations for the parade, and they picked the theme for this year’s parade. Usually there is not an overall theme to go along with the parade, but with this year being a special anniversary, she thought that this year needed a theme.
The theme for the 2023 homecoming parade will be walking us through “the Eras of Trevecca.”
“We’re like ‘how can we do a creative highlight for 50 years?’ and the Eras tour [Taylor Swift’s musical world tour] is very big right now,” said Triplett. “We are not trying to base the parade around Taylor Swift, but more the inspiration of her tour to incorporate in our parade”
