New home for communication studies department

By Jedidiah Blomberg Staff Writer Video editing labs, the student newspaper office, an auditorium for theater auditions and rehearsals and film equipment are all now housed all under one roof for the department of communication studies. The department packed up offices in Tidwell, labs in Mackey and other learning spaces across campus to move into the Wakefield building over the summer. ‘The Eras of Trevecca’ Homecoming 2023 Schedule

By Sol Ayala Online News Editor On Saturday Nov. 4, the homecoming parade will be making its comeback after last year’s parade getting cancelled last minute due to weather conditions. This year marks the 50th anniversary of the Trevecca homecoming parade. The structure of the parade is striving for each float to represent a time during the 50 years since the parade started. Madison Triplett, sophomore class president,  along with the sophomore class council, oversee all preparations for the parade, and they picked the theme for this year’s parade. The Playboy of the Western World begins this weekend

By Griffin Dunn Trevecca theater students open a new show tonight. The Playboy of the Western World, begins tonight and runs the next two weekends. The comedy by John Millington Synge is set in 1907 Ireland. When a stranger arrives with a big secret, the community takes notice. The show runs April 16 through 18 and 23 through 25 at 7 p.m., with a special afternoon matinee at 3 p.m. on April 25 in Benson Theatre in McClurkan Hall. General admission is $7, with a $5 price for TNU students with ID. (more…)

Cast of four performs "The Glass Menagerie"

By Adam Wadding       Four students performed , “The Glass Menagerie,” as the first performance to kick of the spring semester, and  has been added to the list of performances put on by Trevecca’s Theatre program. The cast of  four was small enough to be performed in the round, where seating was arranged where the audience sat around the stage, giving them a more personal experience. The play revolves around a small family living in the 1930's. Narrated by Tom, the son and also brother of two characters, he tells the tale while usually smoking a cigarette out on his porch.  With hopes of getting a "gentleman caller," for her daughter, Amanda Wingfield does everything in her power to give her daughter the life that she once had as a youn...
