Trevecca’s softball team is off to an impressive start in the 2025 season going 3-0 on opening day of the GSC.

The team swept Montevallo in a three- game series with Ashlan Sensing breaking two-all time school records and freshman Shea Hollingsworth hitting a walk-off grand slam to end game three.

Sensing, a senior, tied the all-time appearance record with her starts in game one and two. She also broke the all-time Trevecca strikeout record of 617.

“It means a lot, but I couldn’t have done it without my team behind me and Coach Tyree’s guidance,” said Sensing.

The Trojans not only dominated in pitch- ing but also in hitting.

“It felt good to hit that grand slam, it was my first ever. I just worked hard and practiced a lot,” Hollingsworth said.

Trevecca softball is constantly adapting, as they are a young team.

“There is a lot of on the job training. These girls work super hard and are hungry and ready to learn,” said Ben Tyree, softball head coach.

The team is currently 16-8, dominating their competition.

“We are ahead of where I thought we would be. These kids are amazing and have beat really good teams,” said Tyree.
