The Trevecca Board of Trustees plans to announce the university’s new president during Homecoming weekend after its meeting Nov. 5-6.
Trevecca has partnered with FaithSearch Partners, a faith-based executive search organization that assists in finding mission-driven leaders for Christian organizations, according to its website.
FaithSearch Partners is assisting Trevecca in finding candidates to fill the presidential role through October. The roughly 800 current candidates will eventually be narrowed to a small group, according to Jessica Dykes, vice president and dean of student development.
After FaithSearch Partners narrows the list, the remaining candidates will visit campus and be presented to the Board of Trustees in November. The board will then make the final selection and announce the president-elect, following the board meeting in November.
While plans could change, Trevecca plans to announce its 12th president during Homecoming weekend, 125 years after the university’s founding.
“I really believe that our board is a Christ centered group of people deeply caring about who the next leader is. And so, I know they’re prayerful about that and the Lord is leading them and so we want to obviously leave room for flexibility there, but the hope is that by the November board meeting, we would know who the next president is. And at the appropriate time announce that,” said Dykes.
Trevecca Nazarene University’s website outlines the timeline for the hiring process and the characteristics sought in the new president. For more information, visit Trevecca.edu and select “Presidential Search.”
