By Lydia Chapman Staff Writter Trevecca officials are still looking for a medical professional to reopen and run the student clinic on campus. “We have just begun trying to figure out ways to recruit some great practitioners. We’ve been talking with our nursing program as well as our PA program and we look forward to continuing those conversations about ways we can partner up to bring the clinic back,” said Jessica Dykes, vice president and dean of student development.  The clinic has been closed since the summer of 2023. Several years ago during election day, Lena Welch, dean of the school of arts and sciences, had a student that decided to vote that day.  She recounts the story of asking for prayer requests in class and a student mentioned that an election was happening that day and put it on the class prayer list. Another student immediately remembered it was election day and said they needed to go vote after class. I mean, that’s the biggest thing that I think of, we’re not there to save anyone,” said Reetu Height, director of Trevecca Around the Globe. “You’re not going to convince anyone into loving Jesus, but you are going to be their friend, and then eventually, you know, maybe that will happen.” Height began rebuilding the TAG program in 2021 after moving back to America after spending time as a missionary in West Africa. This affects both current and prospective students. FAFSA is a program that the federal government offers to both current and future college students. Depending on factors such as income, employment and assets, the FAFSA will provide scholarships, loans and Pell Grants. This application opens online in October of every school year to give anticipated financial estimates to students. By Mia Agee Assistant News Director This year marked Trevecca’s fourth annual Giving Day and the university’s first year hosting a campus-wide “gotcha” game. The hope was to engage more students in the Giving Day festivities. Their efforts were successful, as 86 Trevecca students and faculty signed up for the game, according to Peggy Cooning, vice president for university engagement. “Several of the faculty members said that it was the first time they had seen so much engagement between faculty and students,” said Cooning. The entry fee to participate in the game was a minimum of $5, though many donated more than that, according to Cooning.
