Jasmin Enriquez Martinez

Features Editor

At Trevecca, the Urban Farm is more than a place to grow food. It is a classroom where students gain hands-on experience caring for animals, tending plants, and learning leadership. In this episode, TrevEchoes reporter, Jasmin Enriquez Martinez, follows sophomore biology major Tessa Nantze through a typical day, from morning chores to running goats across campus for natural landscape management. She shares how the work challenges her while teaching lessons that extend beyond the farm.

Urban Farm Director Jason Adkins explains how the farm prepares students for real-world challenges and fosters resilience, especially after recovering from flooding in April 2025. The podcast also highlights the farm’s impact on the surrounding community through tree planting, community gardens, and shared resources. Listeners get an inside look at how Trevecca’s Urban Farm connects education, environmental stewardship, and community engagement.
