The voice that launched hundreds: Remembering Trevecca’s WNAZ

Parker Henningsen Sports Editor and Chief Photographer Long before podcasts and playlists filled the airwaves, a small 10-watt signal from the basement of Trevecca’s Fine Arts Building began carrying a new kind of voice across Nashville.  That voice belonged to WNAZ, Trevecca’s student-run radio station that shaped decades of broadcasters, storytellers, and communicators. Trevecca to honor five alumni at athletics hall of fame induction Saturday

Parker Henningsen Chief Photographer and Sports Editor Five Trevecca alumni will be inducted into the athletic Hall of Fame on Saturday as part of the Homecoming celebrations. This year’s inductees include men’s basketball, volleyball, baseball, softball, and the Trojan’s broadcaster for more than 30 years. Josh Helton, Katelyn Atkinson, Tyler Tichnor, Breanna Zeis, and Greg Ruff will be recognized at 9  a.m. on Nov. 8 at Boone Convocation Center. Each year, Trevecca’s athletic department nominates athletes who have achieved national or regional recognition and exemplified the university’s standards for character, while bringing distinction to the athletic program. Trevecca’s Homecoming celebrations kick off this weekend

Keturah Tobias Senior Reporter As part of the homecoming traditions, Trevecca will kick off homecoming weekend with a chapel service on Nov. 6. "We believe in starting the weekend off in worship and gratitude to God for bringing us all together on the Hill is the best way to begin,” said Jennifer Showalter, engagement officer at  Trevecca.  For decades, the homecoming traditions at Trevecca have been treasured traditions that bring alumni, students, staff, faculty, and families to "The Hill."
