By Andrew Preston The Lady Trojans 4-3 (2-2) beat Alderson Broaddus University 1-4-1 (1-3-1) by a score of three to zero Thursday night in front of a crowd of 240 at the Trojan Soccer Complex. The first half was marked with two Lady Trojan goals. Mid-fielder Hannah Barney got the purple and white on the scoreboard first by burying a shot from inside the box at 16:40. Barney’s goal was assisted by defenseman Sophie Callis. From there on, the game belonged to the Lady Trojans. The next goal came from mid-fielder Chelsey Russom at 23:22, however the result was created by Isabella Oviedo. Oviedo assisted on the second Lady Trojans goal after she fell down and lost the ball. By Andrew Preston After a 30-minute weather related delay, the Lady Trojans 3-3 (2-2) fell 2-1 Saturday to Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) opponent Ursuline (5-0-1). Lightning was spotted moments before the scheduled start time of 1:00 p.m. causing both teams to retreat to their respective locker rooms to wait out the storm. (more…)

By Andrew Preston The Trojan soccer team 2-3-1 (1-1-1) beat new Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) opponent Malone University 3-0 Thursday night at the Trojans soccer complex. The Trojans scored first behind a goal from senior Baylor McKay, assisted by Luis Vital at the 28:03 mark in the first half. Just over a minute later (29:19) the Trojans tallied their second goal of the half after Jeremiah Wright beat Pioneer goalie Cody Hilty. The goal was assisted by Frank Down. The second half belonged to the Trojans and Wright. The final goal of the evening was put past Hilty at 87:20, scored by Danny Martinez from Wright. By Andrew Preston The Lady Trojans 3-2 (2-1) won 3-1 against new Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) opponent Malone University Thursday night at the Trojan soccer complex. Junior mid-fielder Hannah Barney found the back of the net first scoring at the 8:56 minute mark in the first half. The game quieted down until later in the second half where much of the action and scoring took place. Nearly 14 minutes passed in the second half until the ball was found behind Lady Trojan goalie, Liz Denton. Kassidy Hannum scored for Malone assisted by Brianna Smith at 58:59.
