By Andrew Preston The Lady Trojans 13-9 (6-0) defeated their Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) rival Alderson Broaddus University 3-20 (1-1) in three sets Friday night at the Trojan Fieldhouse. Tonight’s honorary coach recognized by the Lady Trojans was Mark Elliott, director of athletics at Trevecca. Elliott was awarded the first serve of the evening. Elliott’s serve was called in. Tonight’s match was the first and only meeting the Lady Trojans and Lady Battlers will play this season. The Lady Trojans took the first set quickly in just under 20 minutes, 25-11. By Andrew Preston The Trojans 6-8-1 (4-5-1) lost in overtime 2-1 to Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) opponent Ohio Valley University 11-4 (8-2) Thursday night at the Trojan Soccer Complex. Tonight’s game was the first home match the Trojans have played in over three weeks. The Trojans returned to the Trojan Soccer Complex upon completing a five game road trip in which they went 3-2. The first half the Trojans and Fighting Scots battled a tough 45 minutes, but neither team was able to score. The Trojans were out-shot by the Fighting Scots eight to two. By Andrew Preston The Lady Trojans 11-4-1 (9-3) defeated Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) foe Ohio Valley University 1-13-1 (1-10), by a score of 1-0 Thursday night at the Trojan Soccer Complex. The Lady Trojans returned to their home pitch after nearly a month of action on the road. The Lady Trojans continued their winning ways going 4-1-1 on the road trip. The first half saw the Lady Trojans put up seven shots, four of which were on goal, but they were unable to find their offensive rhythm. During the second half the Lady Trojans found the back of the net quickly when Diana Corzine scored within the first minute (45:54). By Andrew Preston The Trojans 11-6 (4-0) won in three sets against Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) opponent Cedarville 11-4 (1-1) Saturday afternoon in the Trojan Fieldhouse. The Trojans recognized Dr. Mendez, assistant professor of biology at Trevecca, as the honorary coach for the game. The Trojans rattled five straight points off their serve to begin the game feeding of an electric home crowd. By Andrew Preston The Lady Trojans 10-6 (3-0) won in four sets against Ohio Valley University 4-14 (0-1) Friday night at the Trojan Fieldhouse in front of a crowd of 307 people. The Lady Trojans recognized Trevecca biology professor Dr. Reed as tonight’s honorary coach. Dr. Reed was welcomed by running through the lady’s tunnel before the game and also awarded the first serve of the match. He elected to serve underhand, and his shot was called in. The Lady Trojans took the first set 25-19. A timeout with the Lady Trojans up 19-15 appeared to be the turning point in the set. (more…)

By Andrew Preston The Trevecca Cross Country teams hosted their first ever meet at Percy Warner Park in Nashville on Saturday. The women's team finished with an overall score of 90, which placed them 4th best. The men's team totaled a final score of 111, good for 5th place. The weather for the teams first ever home meet played a factor in the competition. The threat of heat caused the men’s race to be moved up to 9:00 a.m. instead of the intended 10:10 a.m. start time. The women’s race began at 9:50 a.m. much closer to the scheduled start time of 9:45 a.m. (more…)

By Andrew Preston The Trojans 2-4-1 (1-2-1) lost to Alderson Broaddus University 2-2 (2-3-2) by a score of thr ee to two Thursday night at the Trojan Soccer Complex. The first goal of the match came from a corner kick that was headed in by Ryan Hogan at 9:02 in the first half. Baylor McKay was credited with the assist. The rest of the half belonged to Alderson Broaddus as the Battlers scored twice in less than five minutes. At 21:08 Shavon John-Brown scored the equalizing goal for the Battlers, he was assisted by Luis Velasco. Fernando Franco gave the Battlers the lead for the rest of the half as he found the net behind Trojan goal keeper Tyler Delgado at 26:04. Franco was assisted by John-Brown. (more…)
