Men’s and women’s basketball teams pass season midpoint at 7–4 in conference play

By Parker Henningsen Sports Editor and Chief Photographer Both the men and women’s basketball teams have passed over the half-way mark in their season. Both teams are currently 14-7 overall with the men being 9-6 in conference play and the women are 11-5 Four-time freshman of the week, Fred Bailey, has been a key player to the men’s team this season. “I was a red-shirt last year so I have just been eager to play. So freshman of the week compliments the work I just put in,” said Bailey. Bailey becomes the second Trojan athlete to ever win the award four-times in one season, behind Julius Turnipseed IV (track and field). Driven by Passion, Emily Moore Reaches 100 Wins and Shapes a New Era at Trevecca

Maven McGregory Senior Reporter Emily Moore never planned to coach volleyball. She studied pre-law with dreams to become an attorney, but her love for the sport led her to the collegiate level. Fueled by her passion for volleyball, Moore reached her 100th career win milestone this season as Trevecca’s head coach. “I did not know even going into college that I would end up as a coach. I started with it and I loved it. I haven't left,” said Moore She has played volleyball since she was 12. While she didn’t play in college, she played for her own enjoyment. Trevecca Volleyball looks toward NCAA Championship after strong start

By Maven McGregory Senior sports reporter After completing their first year in a new conference, the Trevecca volleyball team is back with a goal of winning the conference tournament and making an appearance in the NCAA tournament. The Trojans are now 9–3 and 3–0 in Gulf South Conference games following a 3–0 win against University of Alabama in Huntsville on Sept. 27.  “Last season, we were new to the Gulf South conference and unsure what kind of team we were going to be with so many freshmen playing. Wes Sharpe/Trevecca Athletics The men’s basketball team broke the school record this season for the most assists in one game and has had top-five rankings in 23 categories out of 35 in their first year in the GSC conference.  The men’s basketball team had 29 assists against Welch College, breaking the previous record of 25 (2015-16 and 17-18). Stunt team wins first ever competition

By Jett Johnson Sports Editor Trevecca’s new STUNT team kicked off the season smashing the competition at the 2024 STUNT Opener Classic. They beat every opponent in the tournament with only Mercyhurst University getting points on the board with three. All other schools were beaten by twenty or more points with the other team scoreless. “I’m excited and definitely optimistic. It’s definitely tough when you have a new team and nobody here has done this before. The team has worked really hard, and we have come very far since September when we started together,” said Kelley Quigley, head coach.
