Homecoming isn’t just for alumni. Several events this year are planned for current students to enjoy.
The university’s 125th birthday party weekend will start with a class dodgeball tournament Sunday night and end with the homecoming basketball game and coronation Saturday.
“More than anything, I hope students feel a strong sense of belonging to the Trevecca community,” said Natalie Specht, director of student life.
This year’s homecoming is also President Dan Boone’s last as Trevecca’s president. He will give his final lecture at Founders Day Chapel on Friday, and the university will throw itself a birthday party Thursday with dinner, cake and a free concert.
Specht said the milestone gives the week extra weight.
“Celebrating 125 years makes this homecoming especially meaningful because we get to celebrate not only where Trevecca is today, but also the generations of students who have helped shape our university into what it is today,” said Specht.
