Students work to host modified Friday Night Live event

By Isabel Landers A small group of students on campus are meeting every week to try and figure out how to still host the university's most popular social event of the year. Friday Night Live, an event based on the popular TV show Saturday Night Live, typically draws more than 200 students a year.  After canceling last year's show because of COVID-19, organizers are in the process of figuring out how to host the event this year in line with restrictions on crowd gatherings. Rachel Thompson, social life director, hopes that the show is similar to how it has always been. Friday Night Live returns to campus

by Zach Farnum Trevecca students packed Benson Auditorium Friday night for two consecutive showings of “Friday Night Live." The annual SGA sponsored event is one of the most anticipated student events of the school year. “[FNL] has developed a reputation for being extremely entertaining and funny with great production, while gently poking fun of ourselves,” said Matt Spraker, associate dean of students for community life. The night, hosted by fiancées Amanda Grieme and CJ Bradley, included a plethora of skits and videos put together and performed by students and echoing well-known sketches from NBC’s “Saturday Night Live." Trevecca’s annual Friday Night Live takes the stage

By Christy Ulmet After nearly three months of preparation, more than 30 students helped put on the two back to back sold out shows of this year’s Friday Night Live. Keeping the noise going for the evening was the FNL band, made up of students. Hosted by Trevecca’s very own Dr. Mike Jackson, FNL drew nearly 500 people. (more…)
