Couples looking for a date night idea need look no further than Jernigan’s Apple Dining Hall.
On Thursday, October 26, Sodexo will host the second Sodexo Date Night featuring fall themes, a three-course meal with a planned main course of steak and perhaps a pumpkin-themed dessert.
For $6 and a meal swipe, Trevecca students can have a good quality restaurant experience, said Benjamin Ramirez, Sodexo’s marketing manager.
“You just put in your order, we make it fresh, and bring it out. It is like a restaurant, but on campus,” he said.
While it is called a date night, Ramirez said the event is open to anyone.
The first date night was last month. CarolAnn Stockton and Shekinah Mbepa went as friends to the event and said it was a wonderful experience.
“We are students, and we could not afford a full-course meal from a restaurant like that,” said Mbepa.
Sodexo officials said they plan to make it a monthly event and host it at different locations on campus.
“This is a monthly thing, so depending on whatever is happening that month, like say we have a date night in February, it would be more Valentine’s Day themed. Since it is October, it would be more fall- like, and then closer to Christmas time it will probably be more Christmas-like,” said Kaylah Richey, the dining hall manager.
The event is limited to 30 couples. To sign up, go to the Trevecca Dining Instagram page or locate one of the QR codes on posters in the Hub, the Apple Dining Hall or campus coffee shops.
