SGA Elections are underway

By Diana Leyva

SGA elections are in full swing at Trevecca. The current executive positions open are ASB President, ASB Director of Social Life, ASB Director of Marketing and Communications, and ASB Chaplain.

Anyone interested in any of these positions must complete a packet, found outside the SGA office in the Bud Robinson building, and return it by today, Feb. 24.

“The biggest benefit of being in SGA is that there is a unique opportunity to serve your peers in the student body. Whether you are advocating for structural changes or planning our biggest campus events, SGA offers a chance to connect through service,” said Maci Weeks, current director of social life.

Positions also available are Darda Editor-In-Chief and ASB Director of Intramurals. Anyone interested in either position can contact mkmorris2@trevecca.edu by Friday, February 25. Applications for the aforementioned positions must be completed and sent to mkmorris2@trevecca.edu by 5 p.m. Monday, Feb 28.

Also on Monday, Feb. 28, SGA will approve candidates for the Executive Council. Executive election week will take place March 14 – 18, with campaign speeches taking place during Monday night’s chapel service on March 14.

Winners will be announced via social media on March 19.

General Council Election Week will take place March 28 – April 1. Campaign speeches will be delivered during Monday night’s chapel service on March 28 and winners will be announced via social media on April 2.

“For students interested in running, I would encourage you to put yourself out there. It can be intimidating to run in an election, but there’s nothing to lose and everything to gain. Reach out to those who hold the position you are interested in and see if you’d be a good fit, or stop by the SGA office in Bud Robinson and chat with us!” said Weeks.
