The J.V. Morsch Center for Social Justice will be hosting a Human Trafficking Awareness day on campus today, Jan. 27, with Pastor Greg Arthur, pastor at Duneland Community Church of the Nazarene and Director of Development with Free the Girls, a Nazarene nonprofit supporting human trafficking survivors in Africa and Latin America.
Free The Girls is an international non-profit organization which is devoted to aiding sex trafficking survivors with a path to freedom.
“Our goal for true freedom is measured by economic freedom, restored health, social well-being, education, and opportunity for a different, hopeful future,” reads their website.
At 1:30 p.m. there will be a Free the Girls overview and Q&A with Arthur and Social Justice Director Jamie Casler in the Quick Lecture Hall in Waggoner Library.
At 5 p.m. students are welcome to enjoy pizza and connect with Arthur as well as learn more about Free the Girls in room 103 of McClurkan.
Anyone wanting to learn more about these events or Free the Girls may contact Casler at JCasler@trevecca.edu or visit https://freethegirls.org/
