Trevecca’s first Family Feud event next Friday

By Alexis Garcia

Students who want to build a family and compete at Trevecca’s first “Family Feud” game show, should be ready to sign up during 11 a.m. on Monday.

SGA is hosting its first “Family Feud” game show on Fri. Feb. 17 and the first eight teams to sign up will get to compete in the show.

Forty students will face off in teams of eight to answer questions based on surveys.

The event replaces Quiz Bowl as a way to keep events new and interesting, said Laura Beth Winchester, social life coordinator for SGA.

“It feels really cool to have something new because I transferred last year, and I heard about quiz bowl and I thought it was something academic event, so I didn’t go. I wasn’t part of SGA. This year I am hoping that it will get more people involved,” said Katelyn Boyett, academic event coordinator for SGA.

The show will follow the format of the 41-year-old television game show. There will be four rounds of questions and then two families will face off in the fast money round for the championship.  While the winning team won’t get money, SGA officers are working on a prize.

“I am excited. I love doing these things that introduce new events to students, so I am really looking forward to it. I think it is going to be a great turnout,” said Winchester.

Boyett found a template for the game questions.

“It’s all Trevecca safe,” said Winchester.  “Anyone is welcome to come.”
