Lady Trojans Volleyball beats Alderson Broaddus in three sets, remain undefeated in G-MAC play

The Lady Trojans 13-9 (6-0) defeated their Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) rival Alderson Broaddus University 3-20 (1-1) in three sets Friday night at the Trojan Fieldhouse.

Tonight’s honorary coach recognized by the Lady Trojans was Mar14804835_10205985456393948_757886949_nk Elliott, director of athletics at Trevecca. Elliott was awarded the first serve of the evening. Elliott’s serve was called in.

Tonight’s match was the first and only meeting the Lady Trojans and Lady Battlers will play this season.

The Lady Trojans took the first set quickly in just under 20 minutes, 25-11. After the first timeout was called at 8-3, the Lady Trojans rattled off a series of points before the second and final timeout of the set at 16-6.

During the second set the Lady Trojans jumped out to early 8-3 lead, before going on a 7-2 run causing the first timeout at 13-5. From there on it was all Lady Trojans who took the set 25-9. The second set saw the Lady Trojans put together three different series of five straight points.

In the third set the Lady Trojans continued their dominant play taking the set and match 25-13. This set also saw the Lady Trojans put up a few runs of at least five straight points.

The Lady Trojans returned home Friday after a three-week stint of action on the road in which they went 1-3. The Lady Trojans home match against Kentucky State University scheduled for Tuesday was canceled.

The Lady Trojans next match is scheduled for tomorrow at 1:00 against Davis & Elkins College in the Trojans Fieldhouse.
