Lady Trojans return home, knock off Ohio Valley 1-0

The Lady Trojans 11-4-1 (9-3) defeated Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) foe Ohio Valley University 1-13-1 (1-10), by a score of 1-0 Thursday night at the Trojan Soccer Complex.

The Lady Trojans returned to their home pitch after nearly a month of action on the road. The Lady Trojans continued their winning ways going 4-1-1 on the road trip.

The first half saw the 14797519_10205978545301175_1377361912_nLady Trojans put up seven shots, four of which were on goal, but they were unable to find their offensive rhythm.

During the second half the Lady Trojans found the back of the net quickly when Diana Corzine scored within the first minute (45:54).

The action picked up in the second half as the Trojans came very close to scoring on several occasions.

Corzine’s goal ended up being the only goal of the match as the second half saw the Lady Trojans put up 10 more shots.

Lady Trojans goalie, Liz Denton, made just two saves on the night as the offense in front of her was able to keep possession for most of the match.

The Lady Trojans last faced the Lady Fighting Scots in early September, when the Lady Trojans were victorious 2-1. The Lady Trojans are now 6-0 all-time against the Lady Scots.

The Lady Trojans are back in action Saturday as they face Cedarville University in a matchup of two top G-MAC teams.
