by Jessy Anne Walters

Trevecca’s public relations groups will be holding auditions Jan. 26 and 27 in order to expand the groups and replace two students who will not be returning.FullSizeRender (7).jpg

“[The student’s reasoning for not returning] was really a combination of a variety of things,” said Randy Kinder, director of PR music groups.

PR groups travel and preform for Trevecca in order to help recruit new students within Nashville and the southwest.

“We’re continuing to grow the PR groups. We’re open to a variety of genres and really being creative in the music we’re
doing. So one of the things were committed to is trying to find a variety of different types of musicians and what new areas we can break into,” said Kinder.

The applications for auditions are available in office of admissions and are due today. Auditions will follow.

The admissions team making the final decisions consists of Kinder, Heather Daugherty, associate chaplain; David Diehl, Department of Music chair; and Holly Whitby, associate provost and dean of enrollment management.

“We’re filling between 10 and 12 spots in the groups,” said Kinder.
