The director of Trevecca’s music business program is headed back to the label where he worked for 20 years before going full time in the class room.
“I don’t so much think of myself as leaving Trevecca, but rather joining Provident,” he said. “I believe my time spent on the outside looking in has given me a clearer view of the challenges the music industry faces and how possibly to meet those challenges”
Diehl has been teaching at Trevecca for six years. He was appointed the director of the Music Business Program in 2008.
Several music business students said they were shocked to hear Diehl is leaving.
“I’m very surprised,” said Zach Wyatt. “I wasn’t expecting him to go back to Providence or to leave Trevecca.”
