How should students contact you?

I love to talk to students face to face, so if you see me feel free to stop and ask me any questions or talk about anything.  The next easiest way would be to email me at svtaylor@mail.trevecca.edu . We can talk that way or we can plan a time to meet. I love to hear everyone’s ideas and opinions.

How do you plan to stay connected to students to make sure their voices are heard?

I planned to just be around and involved and hear students’ voices that way.  I want them to know that I am always open to talking and hearing their voices.  Please feel welcome to come to me with anything.

What, in your opinion, are the three most important issues facing students at Trevecca and how will you address them?

Feeling as though they’re living life alone – I plan to provide events and times that students can come together and realize that others are struggling and others around them are going through the same things. I want all the students to know that they are loved and important.  I want to provide times in which we can lift each other up in prayer and worship together and just truly live together.

Deciding what our futures hold – I want students to know that we are all facing this issue.  I also want to make aware to students that we have ample professors and staff that want the best for them and that are here to help.  I want to make available the resources and people we have on campus that are here for everyone.

Their opinions aren’t being heard – I will be open and willing to talk anytime students feel this way.  I want to hear what you have to say! I want to be available and able to answer questions.  If I can’t answer their questions, I hope to point them in the direction of someone who can. I want each person to feel as though his or her voice and opinion is important.

When you are faced with big or important decisions what do you do?

I almost always seek my parents’ guidance first.  I’ve realized how knowledgeable they are and know they always seek the best for me.  I also give the situation up to the Lord and have those close to me also pray with and for me about it.

What are your two top priorities for the position you hold?

  1. Making everyone I can on campus feel loved and important.
  2. Really getting campus ministries involved on our campus and creating times that our student body can worship together.
